Product Introduction | GUMD Modular Drill Series Newly Upgrade

Since the launch of the GUMD Crown Drill, its exceptional performance has rapidly gained widespread recognition among industrial users across diverse sectors. Following practical field testing, numerous customers have expressed a clear demand for diversified solutions, specifically requesting longer drill body options with higher xD ratios and a broader selection of material grades to address the demanding requirements of varied operating conditions.

To deliver precisely on these expectations and enhance continuous application experience, we now introduce two major upgrades: the new 8D extended-reach drill body series and the next-generation GPD7115A super adaptive grade. These innovations aim to provide customers with more comprehensive and flexible performance solutions.

01 Product Introduction

On the one hand, long multiple diameter drill bodies have high requirements for chip removal performance. To enhance the chip removal of the drill body, we adopted a large chip flute design. On the other hand, long multiple diameters have high requirements for the rigidity of the drill body. Therefore, we used high-rigidity drill body materials to improve the stability of the drill body during processing.

GPD7115A

To integrate the application advantages of GPD7115 and GM3225, we have developed the GPD7115A grade.

1 FeaturesIt features a tough substrate combined with a highly wear-resistant PVD multi-layer composite coating, providing excellent wear resistance and processing toughness. This effectively suppresses the occurrence of chipping, ensuring high tool life and reliability during processing.

2 Applications

It is suitable for processing general materials in P,M,and K categories,integrating the application scenarios of both GPD7115A and GM3225.

02 Application Cases

Case1:Plunger bushing

In this case, a D17.5 drill bit was used in combination with an 8D drill body. The material grade selected was GM3225, and the workpiece material was 32CrMo1V. The test results showed that the competing products required a pick drill due to poor chip removal. In contrast, our company's one-step chip removal method performed well, resulting in a 30% increase in processing efficiency.

Case 2:Speed gear shaft

In this case, a D15 cutter head was used in combination with a 5D drill body. The material grade selected was GPD7115A, and the workpiece material was 8620H. The test results showed that the lifespan was increased by 17% compared to the competing products.
