New Product | High-Precision Face Milling Solutions

We has launched a new series of high-precision face milling tools,specifically designed for diverse machining scenarios. The MFF190 series, equipped with LNEX inserts,delivers efficient and stable cutting for cast iron machining. The MFB388 series,targeting precision finishing of general materials,combines SNEU roughing inserts and LNGX wiper inserts to balance machining efficiency and surface finish quality. The MFC345 series, optimized for cost-effectiveness, pairs HNGU roughing inserts with LNGX wiper inserts,ensuring enhanced economy and productivity

The newly independently developed LNGX finishing insert,with its extremely sharp groove shape and large arc long finishing edge design,significantly reduces cutting resistance and processing vibration. It can be adapted to more low-power equipment and weak clamping conditions,and the surface roughness of the processed surface is also smoother (Ra0.8). A good insert cannot do without a precise cutter head and adjustment mechanism. The new mechanism has an adjustment accuracy error of ≤0.01mm,and the minimum runout of the finishing edge can reach 5μm. In addition,the adjustment efficiency has also been increased by 50%,which not only improves the surface quality of the processed parts for users but also brings more flexible operation convenience.

01 Product Introduction

Precision Finishing Dedicated Inserts:LNEX & LNGX Series

The LNEX Series Vertical/Horizontal Dual-Purpose Roughing-Finishing Inserts

The LNEX Series Vertical/Horizontal Dual-Purpose Roughing-Finishing Inserts adopt a negative-type symmetrical geometry as the core design,integrating roughing and finishing operations through vertical and horizontal mounting configurations: the vertical orientation enhances insert rigidity for primary stock removal,while the horizontal orientation optimizes the tool cutting edge angle and combines a sharp chip groove design to reduce material plastic deformation,significantly improving surface finish uniformity. The symmetrical geometric design supports dual-sided eight-edge functionality (four edges per side), maximizing cutting edge utilization. A single insert type can be mounted on the tool holder by switching orientations,seamlessly transitioning between roughing (high feed rates) and finishing (precision cutting speeds),thereby reducing tool change frequency and inventory management costs by 40% compared to conventional dual-insert systems.

The LNGX series inserts feature a long wiper edge design and micro-curve cutting edge geometry

The LNGX series inserts feature a long wiper edge design and micro-curve cutting edge geometry,enabling full-area surface smoothing during machining to minimize tool path overlap marks. The large-radius micro-curve cutting edge configuration significantly reduces cutting residue accumulation,achieving superior surface roughness (Ra) levels. The optimized sharp chip groove geometry effectively lowers cutting resistance while maintaining low-vibration stability,ensuring uniform surface texture distribution and enhanced visual finish quality.

Two Distinct Forms of Adjustment Mechanisms

The MFF190 series utilizes a deformation groove-adjustable clamping insert, enabling vertical linear adjustment without loosening the clamping screws, which ensures high adjustment precision and a simplified,rapid adjustment process. In contrast,the MFB388 and MFC345 series adopt a wedge-block adjustment mechanism,featuring tapered mating surfaces for enhanced structural stability during linear displacement. This design provides superior rigidity and positional repeatability,making it particularly suitable for semi-finishing to precision machining applications where vibration resistance and micron-level accuracy are critical.

02 Applications

Case1: Engine cylinder assembly surface finishing

In this case,the workpiece to be processed is the cylinder block of HT300. The cutting tool is MFF190 series adjustable cutter,with a diameter of 100mm and a total of 12 teeth,including 2 adjusting teeth,equipped with LNEX170708-GW-GK4125 insert. N=748rev/min,F=1078mm/min,Vc=235m/min,fz=0.12mm/z, ap=0.2-0.3mm for processing;

The working condition requires that the roughness of the machined surface is lower than Ra1.6,and the machining tool grain is consistent,the machined surface is bright,and there will be no edge breakage at the edge of the workpiece. After field verification and comparison,the machining surface of our tool is comparable to that of competing products,and the service life is increased by 37.5% compared with that of an imported brand blade. The processing surface is smooth and the grain is consistent.

Case 2 Transmission box shell assembly surface finishing

In this case,the workpiece to be processed is the transmission box shell made of HT250 material. The cutting tool is MFC345 series adjustable cutter with a diameter of 125mm and a total of 15 teeth,including the adjusting teeth of 3 polishing blades. Equipped with roughing insert HNGU0604ANEN-GL-GK2115 and finishing insert LNGX1204ANFN-GK2115,using N=600rev/min, F=720mm/min,Vc=235m/min,fz=0.08mm/z,ap=0.5-0.7mm parameters for processing.

The material in this working condition is shell processing,and the shell is thin in some positions,and the stability of the machining tool is required to be high, otherwise there will be vibration marks and abnormal machining scratches. Through the actual processing verification of the customer,the life performance of our blade is comparable to that of a domestic blade,the texture and roughness measurement of the machined surface are comparable,and the surface roughness reaches the Ra1.6 required by the customer.
