Building on our previous discussion where we addressed high-cycle automotive production challenges—specifically valve-seat guide hole machining in engine cylinder heads—with our high-performance PCD seat-guide cutters. These tools significantly optimize tool-change efficiency, enhance hole-position consistency, and minimize line-stoppage time.

Now, camshaft bore machining emerges as another critical bottleneck in cylinder head manufacturing. The challenges here are equally demanding:

1.Extreme Depth-to-Diameter Ratio: Small bores with exceptional depth, exemplified in this case by Ø24 mm (0/+0.021 mm) bores at 459 mm depth.Stringent Geometric Tolerances: Concentricity ≤ 0.02 mm and cylindricity ≤ 0.007 mm, ranking among the industry’s most stringent requirements.

2.Conventional domestic cutting tools have consistently struggled to meet such specifications, leading to frequent line adjustments and compromised productivity.

To overcome these constraints, Gesac introduces its new PCD Guide Bar Boring Tools. This innovation features optimized structural design and advanced grinding processes, engineered specifically for high-precision, deep-hole camshaft boring in engine cylinder heads.

Innovative Heat Treatment Process

• Multiple vacuum heat treatment, with special steel, to maximize the stability of steel matrix.

• After verification, the tool can be used for a long time without deformation.

High Precision Grinding Technology

• Sophisticated equipment, with self-developed grinding technology, to achieve high-precision grinding process;

• The diameter accuracy of the guide bar is less than or equal to 0.003mm, the run-out accuracy is less than or equal to 0.002mm, and the straightness of the guide bar is less than or equal to 0.001mm.

Wide Versatility Of Processing Materials

• The tool can be adapted to a variety of materials, including PCD, ceramics, cemented carbide, etc., to meet the processing needs of customers with different materials.
