At the beginning of the meeting, Wu Climax, President of Xiamen Tungsten Industry and Chairman of Xiamen GESAC, delivered a welcome speech. On behalf of Xiamen Tungsten and Xiamen GESAC, President Wu expressed a warm welcome to the leaders of the General Association and the executive director units, and summarised the current development situation of the industry and the development of Xiamen GESAC. He pointed out that China's gauge industry has been developing at a high speed in recent years under the leadership of the Association, which not only plays a vital role in the rise of China's manufacturing industry, but also contributes to the development of global manufacturing industry. The current situation, a new round of scientific and technological revolution and industrial change is developing rapidly, intelligent manufacturing, the development and application of digital technology in full swing, China's gauge enterprises are in a new quality of productivity breeding and formation of strategic opportunities, the global manufacturing pattern is facing major changes, in this situation, China's gauge enterprises should be more united and collaborative, firm confidence, under the leadership of the Association to accelerate the development of the new quality of productive capacity, to improve R & D innovation capacity, product quality and quality of products, and to improve the quality of products. Improvement of R & D and innovation capacity, product quality and service level as the focus of enterprise development.
Next, Wang Liming, Vice President of China Machine Tool Industry Association, made a report on the economic operation of China's machine tool industry in 2023 and the first half of 2024. Vice President Wang Liming made a detailed analysis of the global and Chinese machine tool production and consumption, China's machine tool import and export situation and the operation of China's machine tool industry, and pointed out the challenges and opportunities faced by the domestic and international market situation at this stage.
Tool branch of the current chairman, Xiamen GESAC Cutting Tools Division General Manager Zou Lingli made a report on the tool industry development forecast and ideas. She pointed out that in the turbulent changes in the global trend, the world is facing a new instability, uncertainty and unpredictable factors, the tool industry is facing many risks and challenges, but from China's tool industry enterprises in the first half of the production and sales data, still shows a strong resilience. At present, the high cost of imported tools, domestic manufacturing enterprises have opened a new round of localisation, and high-end CNC cutting tools related to national manufacturing industry security. In this regard, Mr Zou, on behalf of the Association to the majority of member units to put forward four initiatives: strengthen product research and development, continue to improve product quality, reject homogeneous competition; service value-added products, and users seek high-quality development; provide overall processing solutions; export upgrading, and continue to strengthen the overseas market expansion efforts. Middle and high-end tool exports, in addition to product excellence, but also need to follow up operations and services. Tool industry head enterprises need to focus on the layout of overseas markets, the use of brand platform influence, drive other small and medium-sized counterparts to jointly develop overseas markets. Enterprises should, according to the industry situation and their own characteristics, actively take practical strategies and measures to improve product technology and quality, strengthen management, promote the integration of dual-use, and participate in the construction of digitalisation and intelligence. In response to the complex and changing situation, turn passive into active, and make contributions to the high-quality development of China's tool industry.
The Secretariat of the Tools Branch issued the Economic Operation of the Tool Industry in 2022 and 2023, China Cutting Tool Market Production, Sales and Import and Export Measurement in 2023, Analysis of Import and Export Customs Data of Tools in 2023, Analysis of Import and Export Customs Data of Tools in the First Half of 2024, and Economic Operation of the Tool Industry in the First Half of 2024 to the participating units. Secretary General Cha Guobing reported the work of the Secretariat in the first half of 2024. The Secretariat held the Council by correspondence and developed 23 new members. Under the support of the General Assembly, the Tools Branch of CCMT2024 exhibition organised more than 4,648 square metres of tours and 131 participating enterprises, and the exhibition effect exceeded the expectation. At the same time, the secretariat also carried out upstream and downstream industry research, actively visited member enterprises, and conducted on-site inspection and research exchanges with 33 member enterprises.
